Welcome to the official blog of Exploring Womanhood Foundation! We are thrilled to share our journey and mission with you – a mission deeply rooted in the empowerment of women, particularly those who serve as the guardians of our natural world: women forest rangers, and the resilient women from forest-dwelling communities.
At Exploring Womanhood Foundation, we believe that true conservation is holistic, encompassing both the preservation of nature and the upliftment of the people who live closest to it. Our core philosophy aligns with the International Ranger Federation’s definition of a ranger: individuals dedicated to the practical protection and preservation of wild areas, historical sites, and cultural heritage. Rangers are the vital link between local communities, protected areas, and administration, providing recreational opportunities and interpreting the wonders of nature.
Yet, despite their critical role, women’s representation in the global ranger community stands at a mere 11%. This stark reality fuels our passion and commitment. We recognize that women rangers are not just participants; they are integral soldiers in the ecosystem conservation teams, deserving of the same respect, resources, and recognition as their male counterparts.
Our foundation was established to address this disparity head-on. We work tirelessly to bring the invaluable contributions of women rangers to the forefront, ensuring they are not sidelined in what has historically been a male-dominated profession. We strive to create a supportive ecosystem where women can thrive, grow, and continue their noble work with confidence and pride.
Join us as we explore the inspiring stories, impactful initiatives, and the unwavering dedication of these incredible women. Together, we can champion their cause, bridge the gender gap in conservation, and build a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
